Here's another reason to indulge in some delicious dark chocolate: It helps you lose weight. Yes, that's right—lose weight. A study found that people who ate chocolate five times a week were up to seven pounds lighter than those who abstained. Researchers think that chocolate's high antioxidant content might help to keep those pounds from piling on.

Do you know someone who's trying to quit smoking or lose weight? Send him or her encouraging text messages. Try to do it every day, even several times a day. OMG—it works! A study found that smokers who had been sent five motivational texts a day for five weeks and then three texts a week for 26 weeks were twice as likely to be smoke-free after six months as people who had received texts simply thanking them for participating in the study.

Examples of the text messages sent: "Why not write an action list of your reasons why you want to quit? Use it as your inspiration"…and "Cravings last less than five minutes on average. To help distract yourself, try sipping a drink slowly until the craving is over." If you are trying to quit, ask supportive friends or family to text you. They'll be happy to help!
